One key to transformation, and the adjustment to the many changes of the paradigm shifts, is creative and critical thinking; creativity, defined as whole-brain education. According to many experts, the 150 year old experiment in public education for everyone is failing. A new understanding of the arts and self-expression, for finding “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”, might help? The Quatrune Brain Map redefines the arts as the foundation for the development of creative and critical thinking. Art psychotherapists focus on encouraging the inner seed core of our creative potential to grow, enabling learners to welcome life challenges, especially in these transitional times.
As a clinical art therapist and art therapy educator, Roberta Shoemaker-Beal, MFA, ATR-BC, worked for many years in psychiatric centers, always asking the question, “How can we navigate through a “creativity shift,” from destructivity to constructivity, which is critical for both survival and thrival skills. She developed The Quatrune Brain Map, with grants from INACS, to re-define how engaging in the arts is primary to a humanistic, whole-brain education system. We will call for a center for creativity in every home, office and neighborhood, especially where mystery learners are not thriving!
Come redefine and discover your creative potentials! Learn why those wishing to be awake and to wake-up others need to become an advocate for creativity and whole-brain education everywhere!
