Owen McAleer is returning to the INACS Board in 2021 to serve as Secretary after having served as President from 2003 to 2005. He currently lives in Denver where he is a Senior Program Officer for the Daniels Fund, a private charitable foundation. Owen manages two grant portfolios in the Denver metro area: Drug & Alcohol Addiction, and Homeless & Disadvantaged. He also provides grants to multiple nonprofits in Colorado outside of the Front Range.
Prior to joining the Daniels Fund in 2010, Owen produced seminars, workshops, and special events in the addiction recovery and self-help markets, along with managing conferences for national organizations working in the fringe science and consciousness fields. Before moving to Denver, Owen spent 12 years in real estate development in Arizona and California. While living in Austin for six years he focused on the printing business and published a magazine, the Austin Idealist.
Owen graduated from the University of Denver with undergraduate degrees in Journalism, Biology, and Psychology, and spent two years in a neurobiology graduate program. He has four children and three grandchildren.
